Raptors Fall to Avengerz 54–42, Focus Turns to Growth and What’s Ahead

The Michigan Raptors battled hard but came up short in a 54–42 loss to the Michigan Avengerz in a high-scoring showdown that showcased both the team’s explosive potential and areas still being sharpened early in the season.

From the opening kickoff, the Raptors showed flashes of the high-powered offense fans have come to expect. Big plays, aggressive drives, and relentless effort kept the game within reach throughout the night. Despite the final score, this was far from a one-sided contest—the Raptors stayed competitive and continued to fight until the final whistle.

While the Avengerz capitalized on key opportunities, the Raptors found themselves facing a few tough breaks that shifted momentum. Several close calls didn’t fall their way, including a handful of officiating decisions that proved costly at critical moments. Even so, the team refused to let adversity define their performance.

“We’re not making excuses,” Said Head Coach Jeff Pitock. “But there were definitely some moments that didn’t go our way. That’s part of the game. What matters is how we respond—and we’re going to respond the right way this weekend vs. Ohio Legends.”

Defensively, the Raptors showed grit but acknowledged there’s work to be done tightening coverage and limiting big plays. Offensively, the firepower is undeniable, but execution in key moments will be a point of emphasis moving forward.

The loss serves as a learning opportunity for a team still building chemistry and identity. With each game, the Raptors continue to grow, adjust, and refine their approach. The belief inside the locker room remains strong: this team is far from its final form.

“We’re building something here,” the message echoed. “Every game is another step. We’ll clean things up, get back to work, and come out stronger.” Said Coach Pitock.

Raptors fans can expect a hungry, motivated squad heading into the next matchup—one determined to turn lessons into results and continue the hunt.
