Black Squad Edges White Squad 28–24 in Hard-Fought Michigan Raptors Interteam Scrimmage
ANN ARBOR, MI — The energy inside the building was electric on March 8th as the Michigan Raptors took the field for their highly anticipated Black Squad vs. White Squad interteam scrimmage, giving fans and coaches their first real look at the team in live action. When the final whistle blew, it was the Black Squad that came out on top in a thrilling 28–24 victory over the White Squad.
The scrimmage served as a key milestone for the Raptors as the team continues preparations for its inaugural arena football season, and it did not disappoint. Both squads showed flashes of explosive offense, aggressive defense, and the competitive fire that the Raptors organization hopes will define the team’s identity heading into the season.
A Fast Start
The White Squad came out firing early, moving the ball efficiently and capitalizing on key scoring opportunities. Strong play along the line and a balanced offensive attack allowed them to build momentum early in the contest. Quick passes, solid protection, and tough yards after contact helped the white Squad establish control in the first half.
But the Black Squad refused to back down.
Black Squad Battles Back
Behind several big defensive stops and a few explosive offensive plays, the Black Squad clawed its way back into the game. A late touchdown drive tightened the score and kept the outcome uncertain deep into the scrimmage.
Players on both sides of the ball delivered highlight moments — including key sacks, strong open-field tackles, and clutch receptions that brought teammates and coaches to their feet.
A Game Until the End
With the score tight and the competitive intensity rising, the final moments of the scrimmage showcased exactly what Raptors fans can expect this season: speed, toughness, and heart.
In the end, the Black Squad rallied the second half to secure the win over the White Squad 28–24, securing bragging rights and giving the coaching staff plenty of film to evaluate as the team continues to sharpen its roster and game plan.
Building Toward Kickoff
Head coaches and staff were encouraged by the overall performance from both squads.
“This was exactly the kind of competitive environment we want,” Coach Chris Kolokithas said after the scrimmage. “The effort was there, the intensity was there, and we saw a lot of guys step up and make plays. That’s what building a winning culture looks like.”
For the Raptors, the scrimmage wasn’t just about the scoreboard—it was about chemistry, execution, and continuing to build momentum toward the regular season.
The Hunt Is On
With the April 11th, 2026 season kickoff approaching and the March 28th Pre-season game next up, the Raptors are continuing to fine-tune their system and push each other every day in preparation for their first season of arena football.
If the Black vs. White scrimmage was any indication, Raptors fans can expect high-energy football, big plays, and a team ready to compete every time they step onto the field.
One thing is clear — the Raptors are hungry.
🦖 Let's HUNT!
